WAKART uses information to operate accounts and storefronts, process subscriptions, secure the platform, support users and meet legal obligations.
1. Scope and who controls information
This Privacy Policy applies to the WAKART public website, registration flow, seller dashboard, WAKART-hosted storefronts, support channels and subscription-related services operated by WAKART.
For merchant account and platform-administration information, WAKART generally determines why and how the information is processed. For customer information entered into an individual merchant’s store or order workflow, the merchant generally determines the commercial purpose and remains responsible for its relationship with that customer.

3. How information is used
- to register, authenticate and secure accounts;
- to create, host and display storefronts and product content;
- to support order collection and merchant workflows;
- to start trials, manage plans, process renewals and issue invoices;
- to send OTPs, service alerts, billing notices and support communications;
- to detect fraud, abuse, prohibited listings, security threats and payment risk;
- to troubleshoot, maintain, analyse and improve the Services;
- to enforce agreements and resolve complaints or disputes; and
- to comply with tax, accounting, payment, legal and regulatory obligations.
4. Payment and mandate information
Subscription payments and recurring mandates may be processed through Razorpay or another payment service provider. Information entered directly into the provider’s checkout is handled under that provider’s own privacy practices.
WAKART may receive and store payment IDs, subscription IDs, mandate status, amount, currency, payment status, limited method details, invoice references and fraud or failure information. WAKART does not ask merchants to send full card numbers, CVV, UPI PINs, banking passwords or OTPs to WAKART support.
6. Merchant responsibility for customer information
Merchants must collect and use customer information lawfully, provide required notices, obtain consent where necessary, limit access, protect exported information and respond to customer requests. A merchant must not upload sensitive or excessive personal information that is unnecessary for operating the store or fulfilling an order.
When a customer contacts an independent merchant through WhatsApp or another external service, that service’s privacy terms also apply.
8. Retention and security
Information is retained for as long as reasonably needed to provide the Services, maintain business and tax records, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, enforce agreements, preserve backups and comply with law. Retention periods vary according to the type of information and reason for processing.
WAKART uses reasonable administrative, technical and organisational safeguards intended to protect information. However, no internet service or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Users must also protect their email, devices and account access.
9. Children
WAKART merchant accounts are intended for persons legally capable of operating a business and entering into a contract. The Services are not designed for children to create merchant accounts independently.
10. Access, correction, deletion and other choices
You may request access to, correction of or deletion of eligible account information by contacting us from the registered email address. We may need to verify identity before acting on a request.
Some information cannot be deleted immediately where retention is required for payment, tax, accounting, fraud prevention, legal claims, security, backups or another lawful purpose. You may also cancel future subscription renewal separately under the Cancellation and Refund Policy.
11. Policy updates
This policy may be updated when the Services, providers or legal requirements change. The latest revision date appears at the top of this page. Material changes may also be communicated through the platform or registered contact details where appropriate.
